5 out of 5 stars A Relaxing Joy   March 24, 2009

Do not use this if you have work to do. If you have the slightest bit of sleep in your system and relax in this recliner you are going to go to sleep. I set this up on the deck with the intention of reading a while and then finishing some other tasks related to spring cleanup. Whoops. Some fairy sprinkled sleep dust in my eyes and away I went. Thank goodness our street is populated by a pack of fools driving Harleys who believe they can take the curve out front at 50 MPH in 2nd gear. I don't know about anti-gravity but the recliner-chair is really comfortable.

This recliner is one of those items that far exceed expectations. Having been an ally of old fashioned cheap recliners I was taken aback with the quality and weight of this recliner. It is heavy enough not to get blown away with a breeze or even a strong wind. Unlike the old fashioned cheap ones it will hold with ease those of us who have managed to exceed normal weight limits. You'll have to determine those limits. It holds Blubba and me with ease. Not both of us together. Just one or the other. Maybe both. Later. March 26 update: It is later now and I forgot to include a comment about the included pillow. I was so excited to try out the recliner I forgot to empty the full contents of the packing box. Lo and behold the pillow was there and it sure adds a nice touch to an already nice recliner. Please permit one other comment. The craftsmanship for the recliner is perfect: not rough edges or annoying sharp edges. It's well made. Can't use now: too rainy. Later

5 out of 5 stars Great chair!   January 24, 2009

Great chair for laptop web browsing and relaxing indoors! I was using a computer table and dining chair for my laptop but was having to hunch forward on my elbows on the sharp edge of the table and with no support for my back. This chair lets me lean back on a blanket and a heating pad for my back, with a warm throw blanket on my legs and the laptop on my lap. It is so comfortable, it makes you want to go to sleep. There is no need for instructions and no need to assemble anything. The chair unfolds easily. You sit in it and unlock the leaning mechanism by pulling down on the rings under each armrest. Push back on the back until you get the right angle, then push up on the rings to lock it in place. It is made of strong and lightweight steel which can support up to 250 lbs. Easy to carry in your car to relax at the beach or campground. In the summer the open mesh seat can let the breezes go through like a hammock. Great product made for and designed by Amazon. Delivered by Fedex next day with free shipping and no sales tax.

5 out of 5 stars Well Pleased   March 25, 2009

I was so pleased that I did not have to assemble this. It arrived all neatly folded up in a box. After taking the box off we straightened it out, examined it to make sure all the bolts and screws were tight, and then set it up. It took a little while to figure how to lower the foot and raise the back but after that it was smooth sailing.

Very comfy. It has a 250 lb weight limit and people who are very broad may not be able to sit in it comfortably because it is narrow. However, there is nothing pressing against the back which makes it easier to sit in that most similar reclining chairs with more traditional framework.

I'm going to test it for a month and if I'm still as happy with it I'm going to buy another one for deck lounging-- Note these are not the type of chair that is meant to sit out in all weather, while I'm sure a rain shower wouldn't hurt it, it would be better to fold it up and put it away when not in use. I will update this review if anything happens that affects my pleasure with this chair.

My Strathwood recliner is a dream. It is fully assembled, just unfold. The construction is very high quality compared to others I have tried. The quality really shows when you are in the chair and tilt to the utmost reclining position. It is a wonderfully relaxing and secure feeling.
The first day was spent full reclined in my wonderful chair for a good part of the afternoon.
THIS IS ONE GREAT RECLINER, HAVE RECOMMENDED TO FRIENDS!
